![]() Along with Millburn, Summit, Madison, Chatham, Maplewood and South Orange, Short Hills acts as a Bedroom community for many commuters. The first draw is the town's proximety to New York City. There are two majors draws to living in Short Hills. Many of the town's residents are Investment Bankers, Doctors, Laywers and members of other well-respected, fairly well paid professions. The town also was ranked 66h overall, ahead of almost all of the affluent communities in Fairfield county, CT (Only Riverside, New Cannan and Greenwich placed higher). According to Forbes' 500 Most Expensive Zip Codes of 2006, Short Hills was ranked 5th overall in NJ behind Alpine, New Vernon, Mantoloking and Stone Harbor. Short Hills is one of the wealthiest towns in New Jersey. We will never know how the real world works because our parents will pay for our NYC apartment out of college and everything after that:)Īfter seeing all of the negative press for Short Hills, I feel that, as a resident, there should be an unbiased, neutral opinion that contains fact, as opposed to fiction, about the town itself, not the people whom are targeted by these negative diatribes. some people exaggerate it here just because they are jealous of he bubble that we live in. They insta themselves drinking because parents dgaf. high schoolers have parties every weekend where there is pot and expensive vodka. Chinese and Indians move here for the schools. with the japs, we do have caps (Christian American princesses) which we invented. All dads commute in and out of the city everyday. whether its the hamptons, aspen, or Boca Raton to see our grandparents, we are there. Kids go to sleepaway camp for 7 weeks leaving parents to go on trips or their beach houses. girls in elementary or middle school shop at Gotham and kids at heart. the only sandwiches you get at the Millburn Deli is the Godfadda or Jay Ray. The famous short hills mall is where there is every designer brand and the Starbucks line is always long. mostly everyone lives in giant mansions but there are some small houses. All the girls dress like they're 20 in Bebe dresses, push up bras and 6 inch heels. boys jump around in a circle yelling "fuck the police" or "we slay p*ssy". the traditional turbulence dance at every mitzah. 7th grade is batmitzah season, where most kids are invited to about 100 throughout the year.
